Studded Betrayal (aka Christina Dimitra) I Greece

Studded Betrayal (aka Christina Dimitra) is a multidisciplinary designer and award-winning illustrator based in Athens, Greece. Her work mostly explores childhood themes, evoking nostalgia and emotion through her creations. She illustrates children's books and hosts creative workshops for kids and adults in museums and cultural spaces across Athens. Christina is currently designing the set and costumes for the children’s opera Noye’s Fludde by Benjamin Britten, directed by Themelis Glynatsis, which will premiere in April at the Greek National Opera. She also works as an illustrator and animator for organizations such as Patakis Publications, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, the Onassis Foundation, and the Hellenic Children's Museum. Her latest animation, Lafcadio Hearn – Life as a Fairytale, was an official selection at the Animasyros International Film Festival, where it was screened in 2023, and it also received an illustration award at the Benaki Museum. Christina crafts oversized handmade teddy bears (soft sculptures) which she showcases in galleries and exhibitions. Since 2016, she has been running her own brand, Studded Betrayal, where her artworks and toys are featured in design stores throughout Greece.

 Danai Dragonea I Greece

 

Danaι Dragonea is an award-winning author, journalist, and co-founder of the organization Every Single Story, dedicated to women's storytelling and amplifying female voices. Her novel The Island of Rain – A Secret Diary received the 2023 Debut Author Award for books for children and young adults from the Greek Section of IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People). The same novel also won the 2023 Young Adult Fiction Award from the Public Bookstores (Public Book Awards). She has delivered talks on female identity and gender stereotypes, while Every Single Story's podcast As Long as It Lasts, I’ll Be Here! received special mention at the 64th Thessaloniki International Film Festival. In October 2024, her new book The Island That Travels Through Time was published by Dioptra Editions.

Xenophon Nikolakopoulos I Greece

 

Xenophon Nikolakopoulos was born in Athens, in 1981. He studied Computer Science Engineering at the National Technological Institute of Piraeus. From a very early age he was involved in photography, which he considers a means of communicating emotions, ideas and experiences. He has attended photography seminars at the Benaki Museum with Platon Rivelis, at Leica Academy with Stavros Andriotis, a photography workshop with Giannis Galanis, and has participated in several group exhibitions and photo albums. Since 2017, he completed a videography seminar at SAE Athens and film directing workshops with Greek directors, such as Nikos Grammatikos and he has attended a sound directing seminar with Electra Venaki. Today he is a graduate student of the film directing department of IEK AKMI in Athens and holds a BA degree in film directing from Queen Margaret University in England..

Irma Avila Pietra Santa I Mexico

Documentary filmmaker, information rights activist, and radio and audiovisual producer specializing in working with children. Founder of the “APANTALLADOS PROJECT,” which works on information rights, audiovisuals, and society through collaborative communication projects, participatory methodologies for critical media reception, and building citizenship. Always working in public media, she was the producer of the first participatory TV series in Mexico, “APANTALLADOS,” and creator of a festival of the same name that links information rights, technology, and children. Coordinator of spaces dedicated to children for the exhibition and creation of audiovisual media at the IMER in the context of the pandemic and the children’s section of the International Documentary Festival, DOCSMX Her work has been recognized by bodies such as UNICEF, UNESCO, and the OAS.

Katerina Chryssanthopoulou I Greece

 

Katerina Chryssanthopoulou is Post Doc Researcher in News Literacy and Young Audiences at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki; holds a PhD in Media & News Literacy (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki); MA in Cognitive Sciences (National & Kapodistrian University of Athens); BA in English Literature (National & Kapodistrian University of Athens); BA in Informatics (Athens University of Economics & Business); and Diploma in Body Psychotherapy (Hellenic Center of Biosynthesis). She is published writer of fiction and non-fiction books. She works as Media & News Literacy Researcher, MIL Trainer, Writer & Conference Interpreter. She has designed and delivered training workshops for Media Literacy Institute, Stories Media Lab, Hellenic American Education Foundation and she teaches the Media & News Literacy Junior Club at ACG Pierce College, Athens. She is also adjunct professor at Ionian University. Her research topics include media literacy, news literacy for young audiences, digital reading, cognition & digital media.
